Hello, I have read threads on the issue I am having and nothing has seemed to work. I am using OS X 10.9.4 and Outlook 2011 14.4.4 Whenever I search for anything, in any context, I get zero results (this had been working for the last 10 months or so without a problem). These are the things I have done: • Made sure that 'Mail and Messages' are part of enabled categories in Spotlight • Rebuild Outlook Database • Moved my 'Microsoft User Data' form ~/Library/Preferences/ to ~/Documents • Uninstalled the entire Office 2011 suite • Reinstalled Office 2011 • Added ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data to Spotlight's 'privacy' list • Removed ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data to Spotlight's 'privacy' list (this recreated the index). The weird part is that while spotlight is indexing again, I have a search going on (which returns no results). When spotlight finishes, the search results are displayed: But as soon as I try searching again, I get nothing back! This leads me to believe that the index is recreated and Outllok works fine for some time, but then something just messes it up again. Any help is appreciated - Outlook without search capabilities is pretty much useless to me.

One thing I didn’t see in your research was completely resetting the Spotlight index. You’ve correctly tried temporarily adding and them removing the Microsoft User Data folder to Spotlight to kickstart the indexing for this folder. But if that doesn’t work then completely rebuilding the entire Spotlight index makes sense. • Open the Terminal application found in Applications > Utilities. • Type this: sudo mdutil -E / • Press the return or enter key and you’ll be prompted to enter your password.

Type it and press return or enter again. This effectively deletes the entire Spotlight index for your computer and builds a new one. Microsoft office for mac reviews. Depending on the amount of data on your computer this could take a few hours to complete. You can click the Spotlight menu icon on the upper right corner of your monitor to monitor progress.
